Poker Pro Media sponsors Canadian Tourney to Celebrate Launch of ‘Poker Pro Canada’ Magazine
Poker Pro Media is kicking off festivities for the launch of its newest magazine title, Poker Pro Canada, with a huge tournament in Montreal – The Four Aces/Poker Pro Canada Classic.
The event is scheduled for the Four Aces poker club April 15-18. The no-limit hold’em freezeout will feature a $1,500+$150 buy-in and deep stacks. There will be three “Day Ones,” with players eliminated on Day 1a allowed to buy back in on Day 1b, and again on Day 1c if you are rich, in a gambling mood, or a donkey. Survivors of the three “first days” will do battle on Sunday, April 18, for the title and the lucrative prize money. Organizers are anticipating at least 300 players and at least a half-million-dollar prize pool. Our Canadian staffers tell us that Montreal is one of the hottest international cities in the world, with some great nightlife and legal poker, so if you are not from the Quebec area, it is still worth the trip. Some online poker rooms have already committed to help out with the event, so there will be some surprises in store. Bodog and 888.com will be running online satellites to the Classic. “This is the first new poker publication that has been launched in years, and we want to kick off Poker Pro Canada with a bang, and this big event is one way we are doing that,” said Poker Pro Editor-in-Chief John “Johnny Quads” Wenzel, who is overseeing the launch and the new title. “I will be competing in this event, so you know there will be some ‘dead money’ there. Come and get it.” Call 450-638-POKER or 877-77-4ACES to pre-register. Who knows? Win this event and you just may find yourself on the cover of Poker Pro Canada magazine.
